A Gilded Edge Exhibit Featuring the Paintings of Gigi Horr Liverant
Salem, CT (October 25, 2011) – The Gilded Edge Custom Framing and Gallery is pleased to present the vibrant pastel paintings of Gigi Horr Liverant in an exhibit that runs from November 1st thru November 26th, entitled, Prints and Small Pieces.
An artist reception will be held Friday, November 11th from 6:00 to 9:00pm and is open to the public.
A resident of Colchester, Gigi has painted in oils and pastels for over 30 years. Within her medium, she uses the optimal combination of color, line, shape and balance to create images that provoke a new awareness of our environment. Motivated by the extraordinary possibilities of inconsequential moments and places, Gigi recreates the ordinary into a structured array of densely textured color.
She has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors including First Prize Connecticut Women Artists, Best in Show Connecticut Pastel Society, the Andrew Giffuni Memorial Award at the Pastel Society of America Annual Exhibition in 2009 and the Diane Bernhardt Gold Medal Award at the PSA Annual Exhibition in 2000. Gigi’s paintings are included in notable private and corporate collections nationally. She is a Pastel Society of America Master Pastelist and a Signature Member of the Connecticut Pastel Society.
