Open Gallery Events on Two Saturdays, April 24th and May 1st
Salem, CT (April 13, 2010) – The most treasured gifts are the ones given from the heart. The Gilded Edge is offering two special promotions for children to create one-of-a-kind gifts to give to Mom, Grandma or a favorite aunt this Mother’s Day.
The Gilded Edge will hold open gallery events on April 24th and May 1st from 10-5. Children are invited to decorate a free 8x10 mat to embellish a 4x6 photo of themselves, which may be brought from home or taken at the shop for $1.50. Art supplies including crayons, markers and colored pencils will be provided. For an additional $15, customers may purchase selected custom moulding ready-made frames to fit the decorated matted photos.
“I think it's important for kids to participate in gift giving,” says The Gilded Edge co-owner Susan Jacobs, “When my children were small, I had them decorate mats for their photos to give to their grandparents. Children’s art, while not always recognizable as certain objects, always reflects their energy, joy and generosity.”
