Artists Reception on Sunday, May 23rd from 1-4pm
Salem, CT (May 11, 2004) - The Gilded Edge Custom Framing and Gallery is
pleased to present two local artists in an exhibit to benefit the
Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (CCMC).
Work by artist Jodi Mendlinger, a resident of Colchester and a teacher at Bacon Academy, and photographer
Tushar Dadarwala, a resident of Old Saybrook, will be featured.
A limited edition series from Mendlinger titled “Circle of Life: The
Sunflower” is a beautiful and moving tribute to a student whose life was cut
short by cancer. The ten Giclee print series portrays the essence of the
stages of life unfolding one season at a time. Photographs by Dadarwala
punctuate and compliment Mendlinger’s work. His exquisite images of
butterflies capture the beauty of life in a fleeting moment.
A portion of gallery sales from the exhibit will be donated to CCMC. In
addition, The Gilded Edge is sponsoring a silent auction for one framed work
from the “Circle of Life” edition.
This exhibit will open May 23rd with an artists reception from 1-4pm
and will run through August 31st. Bids for the
silent auction can be made throughout the duration of the exhibit.
Bidders can monitor the auction on The Gilded Edge web site at
www.thegildededge.com.
“The Connecticut Children’s Medical Center greatly appreciates the
support of The Gilded Edge and the artists contributing to this exhibit,”
said Tom Hanley, CCMC Director of Public Relations.
