The Gilded Edge has a fine, eclectic selection of artful gifts including Goddess Earthworks pottery, the New England inspired art of Ruth Lorentzen and jewelry by Gem Creations and Carol Ellen. A small number of signed pieces by Tyler Saucier, glass blower, glisten in our windows.

We are also happy to offer very tasty soup and dip mixes with all natural ingredients (and no salt!) by Artisan C. S. F. Catch of the Day, Tortilla Soup, Chow Down Chicken and Jambalaya are a few of our favorites.

Larson-Juhl has just introduced the Biltmore Collection, inspired by the tradition, elegance and grandeur of the Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina. The antiqued finishes were specially created to look aged, with highlights and lowlights, showcasing the profiles’ distinctive shapes and ornate designs. The Biltmore Collection is Larson-Juhl’s and the U.S. framing industry’s first PEFC collection. PEFC, Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, traces the chain of custody of lumber product from forest to final product.

Nurre Caxton has a line of moulding that is easy on the eyes and the planet, EcoCare. The wood is harvested from managed forests, areas that are carefully monitored, controlled and grown using a host of modern forestry techniques. For each tree used, a tree is replaced. Colors are achieved with organic, water-based stains that allow the beauty of the wood grain to show through. No oils or chemical solvents are used so they have a very low environment impact.

New colors and textures in mats that reflect design and color trends for 2009 are also available.

Kidz Fizz Bath Fizzies
The Gilded Edge is very pleased to be an outlet for Kidz Fizz. A company started by 10 year old Olivia Harris, Fizz Kidz is By Kids… For Kids…To Help Kids. Sales benefit The Smile Train, a small, highly effective charity responsible for surgical repair to over 355,560 children born with cleft lip and palate since March of 2000.

Kidz Fizz Bath Fizzies are delightful little concoctions for your bath. Drop them in water and feel the tickly bubbles along with moisturizing oils. Light and pleasantly fragranced, they are made by hand in small batches, using pure essential oils and other natural aromatics and colorants. Choose Geranium Rose, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemon Grass and Green Tea or Sweet Orange. Each box sells for $5.00 and contains eight fizzies to delight bathers of all ages!
